Roosevelt Island continues to perplex and intrigue New Yorkers—Is it part of Manhattan? What else is there?—even as its place in the city as a good option for apartment-hunters on the lookout for (relatively) affordable apartments grows. The best way to gather intel on Roosevelt Island is to hop on the tram—or, the subway (yes, there's a stop)—and check out open houses. Here, a sampling for this weekend.

531 Main Street, Apartment 213-214. Two apartments were put together to create this two-bedroom, two-bath in a co-op with a swimming pool, gym, and bike room. The listing on Streeteasy says it needs renovations (so it's unclear if the pic above is a rendering); check the link for pics of the actual apartment. Asking price: $1.65 million.
