Brownstones may rule the day in Park Slope, but in neighboring Gowanus, the housing stock is a little more eclectic, which makes for some interesting finds. Take this brick two-family on 7th Street between Third and Fourth avenues. Represented by Space Marketing Shop and asking $2.75 million, it's been gutted to the studs and remade into a pair of modern apartments.

The bottom unit is an open-space concept, with two bedrooms and a lower level that functions as a rec room. The kitchen's plenty plush with stainless steel appliances and marble countertops.

It also has access to the outdoor space.

The upstairs triplex gets the lion share of the square footage, and has four bedrooms—plus an open room on the top floor that leads to a terrace—and three-and-a-half baths.

It's hard to tell if the asking price is on point or ambitious—at the moment, there's only one other structure classified as a "house" (and the other one's actually a commercial space) on the market in the neighborhood, at least per Streeteasy, so it's hard to make a comparison. As always, you'll need to conduct your own due diligence (including on the Gowanus Canal nearby, if that's a concern). But on the visual bonafides alone, we're developing a bit of a crush on this property.
