Score a rare rental in Tribeca's Sterling Mason building
Tribeca doesn't exactly want for high-end housing options, but if you're after a mix of classic architectural details and up-to-the-minute finishes and amenities, you might want to splurge on this brand-new three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom rental in the neighborhood's much-hyped development, The Sterling Mason. This is the first time the $19,995/month rental has been on the market since the revamp of the building, a 1905 masonry loft warehouse that's been remade into sleek new condos, with some key original details intact. (Worth noting, also, that this seems to be the only rental currently on offer in the building.)
Both the kitchen and bathrooms feature wood detailing and cabinets (a refreshing break from ubiquitous all-white-and-chrome color schemes, though possibly difficult to clean?), marble countertops, and high-end appliances. The master bathroom even comes with a soaking tub and radiant heated tile floors.
In addition to the large, high-ceilinged living room, each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, and the master bedroom has a walk-in closet. The apartment has its own washer and dryer (for these prices, it'd be crazy if it didn't), and in the kitchen, there's a wine cooler (arguably just as essential) in addition to all the other trappings of a modern chef's kitchen.
As for the building itself, located on 71 Laight Street, there's storage, a full-time doorman, concierge, live-in manager, courtyard, exercise studio, "library lounge," children's playroom, and a parking garage. The apartment is pet-friendly, and the owners are seeking a renter for a standard 12-month lease. What do you think—is it worth nearly $20k/month for you (and your family) to spend a year living a luxe life in the city's wealthiest neighborhood?
