Mermaid chic: this UES penthouse has an undeniable "under the sea" vibe
Sometimes after seeing photo after photo of tastefully staged—and virtually identical—apartments full of shades of grey and beige, we get eager to see something, anything that breaks the mold. So you can see why we're kind of in love with this slightly nutty Upper East Side penthouse, with its all-seafoam-green-everything color scheme and generally aquatic decor:

And oh yes, the place does come furnished, to the tune of $30,000/month, so you'd get to settle right into the place as-is, in all its briny glory. (As with many ultra high-end rentals, this seems geared towards the pied-a-terre set, though the kitchen is much more spacious than what you usually see in a short-term rental). The apartment itself a three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom duplex with huge floor-to-ceiling windows, high ceilings, and an outdoor terrace (pictured below) that's presumably more inviting in the warmer months:

The place seems to come with plenty of perks—a full-time doorman, concierge service, a porter, and recent renovations to ensure that lights, electronics, etc. in the apartment are "fully automated." The building itself includes a fitness center and spa, salon, library, lounge, "business center," and a private restaurant and bar.
But one thing that threw us for a loop here: why no photos of any of the bedrooms? Hopefully they don't actually expect prospective renters to "sleep with the fishes," right?
