Of all the "quirks" we see in the world of New York rentals, apartments that barely see the light of day are one of the most common. (Seriously, who hasn't done time in a might-as-well-be-windowless apartment at some point or another?)

So it's no surprise that we get a little excited when we come across an apartment like this Columbia House rental on the UWS, with its living room full of wall-to-wall, "oversized windows":

The art and furnishings don't come as part of the deal with this $4,950/month corner two-bedroom, unfortunately, but we're still intrigued by the building's pet-friendly policy, and its location just a block away from Central Park. The listing notes that the apartment is easily converted to a three-bedroom (and that temporary walls are allowed), but presumably that'd mean cutting off a chunk of that spacious open living room.

The open kitchen with bar seating and breakfast nook also seems like a good fit for either entertaining or family-style dining.

The bathroom looks small-ish but standard, and the bedrooms (like the living room) get a good amount of light. On top of that, the building has a doorman, laundry room, and bike storage. So what do you think—worth splurging at nearly $2,500 per person, or trying to divvy up between a group of three?
