NYC's loss of renters, record signed leases in November, & more
This week, readers visited Brick Underground to learn how NYC's loss of renters compares to other major U.S. cities. According to a recent RentCafé report, NYC places third, behind Detroit and Oklahoma City, with 25 percent more renters who moved away in 2020 compared to 2019.
Also of interest: Brooklyn and Manhattan saw a spike in new leases signed in November for the second month in a row. But, it took landlords offering steep rent drops and significant concessions to pull renters back to the city after months of declines, according to the most recent Elliman report.
