This week, our most popular stories were the ones that looked at the impact of the new rent laws on landlords and tenants. Most of the changes affect rent-stabilized tenants, but market-rate renters gained several advantages as well—including a cap on security deposits and a ban on the practice of asking for “last month’s rent.”
