NYC Real(i)ty Speak: Renovation regrets
The workers have (mostly) gone, the punch list is (slightly) shorter, and you are finally living in the vision that has consumed most of your free time and finances for the last year. If you could talk to your pre-renovation self, what would you list as your five greatest regrets?
  • Giving up closet space for a bigger bathroom/kitchen/anything - nothing beats closet space
  • The home automation system that means you cannot flush your toilet without an iPhone
  • Dark floors
  • Light furniture
  • Calcutta gold marble a bathroom used by a husband and child with poor aim
Veronica X. is a Canadian by birth, an Upper West Sider by nature, and an Upper East Sider by choice and circumstance. She has finally found an apartment big enough for her family, books, and shoes and is now in the process of renovating it.
