In case you were wondering, the median sales price for a three-bedroom in the neighborhood is actually $700,000 more, and renting a three-bedroom in the area will cost you around $4,400 a month, according to StreetEasy. The reason for this much lower price may very well be because it's on the top floor of a fourth-floor walk-up. But for those for which a schlep up isn't a dealbreaker, it's probably worth checking out.
What drew us to this place, in particular, are the built-in bookshelves and the library "nook." Plus, there are both original and stained-glass panels that add character to the place (this is not a cookie-cutter apartment, and we appreciate that!).

It's also minutes from the park and all the things that draw people to Park Slope—kid-friendliness, great restaurants, and shopping and more. Also, it's pet-friendly, so if your family is both human and animal, this might be worth seriously considering.
