You can finally get that coveted Park Avenue address—for less than $500,000
If you've ever wanted to live on prime Park Avenue, now might be your chance. This well-renovated studio at 1036 Park Avenue between 85th and 86th streets has a $475,000 price tag that'll appeal to those of us not firmly ensconced in the one percent.
For a studio, it is a little pricey, but the apartment is in a full-service co-op and has a separate kitchen with a window, lots of cupboard space, and stainless appliances. It's also got new closets and a Murphy bed already built in so you can actually make the most of that pretty large living/entertaining space, complete with recessed lighting. (The building doesn't allow pets, unfortunately.)

We also appreciate the fact that there's a foyer area (see above), which means you're not walking straight into your sleeping/living space.
There's also a dressing room (!) next to the bathroom—see the floorplan above. We really wouldn't mind a dressing room of our very own. (Storage space FTW.)
One (potentially major) caveat, though: In keeping with the trend of the tony street, buyers need to put 50 percent down (around $240,000) to pass the board. That probably explains why it's been on the market for months. On the plus side: You may have some negotiating power.
