This Tudor-style Ditmas Park home comes with a Brooklyn rarity: a backyard pool
We recently wrote that in-ground pools are a precious rarity in Brooklyn backyards, but just in time for summer, lo and behold, a real estate unicorn: a beautifully maintained 1914 landmark townhouse in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn, with a spacious pool—and hot tub!—out back.
The property is located on appropriately beach-y sounding Ocean Avenue in Ditmas Park's Historic District, with a classic neo-Tudor design, private driveway and a huge, welcoming living room with a wood-burning fireplace (one of four in the home), oak mantle, oak flooring, wood moldings, stained glass windows, and a dramatic main staircase:
The main level also features a sunny, enclosed porch, a solarium that overlooks the backyard, a dining room with a cofferred ceiling and another fireplace, and a recently renovated galley kitchen:
On the upper levels, you'll find six bedrooms, including one with its own fireplace and adjoining sitting room, and another bedroom that spans the entire width of the house, and includes yet another fireplace, along with two walk-in closets, a kitchenette, and a private bathroom:

As for that enviable backyard, it includes mosaic tile, and a handy pool shower and partial bath in the basement level. The $2.3 million asking price is steep, but then again, landmark status combined with an amenity like an in-ground pool is a true find in this city's market, and with the warmer months looming, we have a feeling this property won't be sitting on the market for long.
