There are 127 affordable housing apartments at the currently-being-constructed 21 West End Avenue, part of the long-stalled (and divisive) Riverside Center development, and applications are now available for them. Per a listing on NYC Housing Connect, apartments range in price from a $565-a-month studio (five of those are available) to a $1,067-a-month three-bedroom (there are four of those). You may have the best chances of securing a one-bedroom since there are 63 of those, ranging in price from $607 a month to $769 a month.

As usual, the apartment size you're eligible for depends on your household size and income. For a household of two to qualify for one of the $607-a-month one-bedrooms, for example, income is capped at $27,640. For a family of four to be eligible for a three-bedroom, the household income cap is $43,150. A family of six can make up to $50,100.

The building has an attended lobby, an on-site resident manager, fitness center, lounges, pool a and outdoor terrace. Some additional fees may be levied.

You can apply online by making a profile and submitting an application via NYC Housing Connect, or by sending a postcard to 21 West End Avenue Apartments, 243 Fifth Avenue, Box 425, New York, NY 10016 requesting an application. (Note: if you submit more than one application, you could wind up being disqualified.) Applications are due by November 12th.
