Live like a movie star: 5 NYC homes with a Hollywood pedigree
Stars--they're just like us! They, too, go through the rigamarole of selling their apartments, with all the attendant anxieties. Of course, they probably have a coterie of helpers to handle the grunt work, and their pads are significantly nicer than the average New York dwelling. Nonetheless, in honor of the Academy Awards on Sunday, we bring you five abodes whose movie star owners have moved on:

New parents Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis own a two-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom loft in Chelsea, which was on the market for $4 million (it's now in contract). While Viking appliances, a master suite with walk-in closet, and 12-foot ceilings are certainly high-end, the building has at least one down-to-earth feature: the doorman only works part-time, from 12pm to 8pm.

Power couple Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker famously own a Greenwich Village townhouse, which is on the market for just under $20 million. Along with the very Carrie Bradshaw closet, the place features seven fireplaces, a master "retreat" with a private terrace and windowed walk-in closet, and a "family floor" with 50-foot-long bookcases. Disappointingly, the family apparently never lived there.

Indie actor and director Vincent Gallo is asking $3 million for his one-bedroom condo at 100 Eleventh Avenue, the jigsaw-like glass building designed by starchitect Jean Nouvel. The apartment is fittingly quirky for the creative renaissance man, featuring a curved glass wall and, as the listing puts it, "a loggia/den with access to a private outdoor balcony facing onto a sculptural atrium constructed of steel and glass that features a suspended irrigated tree box."

Can we talk about Joan Rivers? While she wasn't exactly a movie star, the Oscars staple dominated the awards show with her biting (and hilarious) red carpet coverage. The late queen of comedy's $28 million penthouse is suitably over-the-top, with a ballroom, staff quarters, guest quarters, library, two kitchens and plenty of gold, gold, gold.

He's already found a buyer, but Bruce Willis has plenty to miss about this $13 million three-bedroom at the exclusive El Dorado co-op, including 50 feet overlooking Central Park and a kitchen big enough to film the sixth installment of "Die Hard."
