For the best seat in town, apartments along the Thanksgiving Day parade route
If you've ever watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade from the street, you know it means waking up at the crack of dawn, packing a thermos and assorted scarves, hats and mittens, and squeezing onto the pavement alongside a crowd that makes the rush hour F train feel like a deserted tundra. There is a better way, even if it'll cost you several million dollars or more.
We combed through the apartments on sale now along the parade route—which starts at 77th and Central Park West, continues east on 59th Street and then down Sixth Avenue from 59th to Macy's at 34th Street—to see what's on offer (y'know, in case you want to lock down that prime spot for 2015).
If you'd rather get a bird's eye view of the proceedings, this 73rd-floor four-bedroom at the Time Warner Center with 10-foot floor-to-ceiling windows for $25 million is a better bet.

Similarly, a penthouse atop the 29-story Majestic co-op building will give you a good look at the parade, and for a hair under $3 million, this one-bedroom, one-bathroom is, ahem, a relative steal.

It's no Dakota, but it'll do for the view: a one-bedroom at the Atlas on West 38th Street just off Sixth Avenue for $3,710 a month—and no broker's fee.
It's hard to get any closer to the action (and the post-parade performances) than this apartment at 50 West 34th Street, a.k.a. Herald Towers. Several apartments are available to rent in the building. The one above is a $3,600 no-fee one-bedroom.

Catch the parade during its short walk along the park's southern edge from this co-op at 200 Central Park South. A one-bedroom with windows along the north, south and west walls is available for $2.995 million.
