An Upper West Side townhouse—on Edgar Allan Poe Street—with six floors and eight bedrooms (not too shabby, huh?)
If you're a runner, a dog owner, or any other Riverside Park lover (with a certain budget), you may want to check out this $7.995 million six-floor, seven-bedroom, house on 84th between West End Avenue and Riverside, otherwise known as Edgar Allan Poe Street.
Part of the Riverside-West End Historic District, the Romanesque Revival Townhouse was built in 1899, but recently updated (the top two floors, in particular, were gut renovated). It's technically a two-family house, comprising an owner's quadruplex and an additional ground-floor duplex, but is currently being used as a single-family home.
There are 6500 square feet inside, in addition to a 500-square-foot private yard (which is charming and oh-so-green), plus a 150-square-foot roof terrace that overlooks the gardens below.
Living and dining spaces are on the bottom two floors, with the bedrooms upstairs.
The kitchen has a GE Cafe series stove with convection oven, as well as a pretty little eating nook with views of the garden.

Some original details remain, including a stone stoop with carved railings, an ornamental cornice, and intricate window designs. But there are modern updates, too, including a Kemper system roof, LG washer and dryer (there are two laundry rooms, actually!), Lutron switches and dimmers and an updated sprinkler system.
It also just saw an $800,000 price cut less than a week ago, per Streeteasy—Town Real Estate is handling the sale—so perhaps the asking's more in line with the market now?
