There are certain suburban houses that make us feel sad about our apartments/question what we're doing in this city. This four-bedroom, three-bath colonial in Bridgewater, Connecticut listed with Klemm Real Estate is one of those. The place has a media room! We're not even sure what that means. And the house is on over an acre of land.
Plus, it's $699,000—about $165,000 less than the average Manhattan one-bedroom.
Up until last year, the town was dry (yes, that means no restaurants that serve alcohol), but that's a thing of the past. Bridgewater, which attracts both full-time residents and weekenders, is a quiet town that's popular for horse riders specifically.

The kitchen is updated and ready for entertaining.

We could get used to spending spring and summer weekends on that deck.

There's also a pool and a gorgeous outdoor space (both shown above), in addition to the fireplace and the nine (!) total rooms.
It's also about 70 miles from the city, which means it could be commutable (especially if you don't have to work in NYC every day), but even better for a not-so-far-away weekend spot.
