Prospect Lefferts Gardens may not be as desirable as nearby Park Slope and Prospect Heights (and can't yet compete with those neighborhoods' dining scenes), but, as a result, it's also not as expensive. The proof is in this $265,000 studio, with a recently renovated kitchen, built-ins, and a generous layout.

Those steps between the kitchen and living/dining area help differentiate the spaces.
The apartment is pricey compared to others in the neighborhood ($160,000 was the average price for similar units sold in the last 90 days). But in Park Slope, for example, a similar apartment would likely cost about $100,000 more.

This apartment, located in a building at 125 Ocean Avenue, is also right off Prospect Park, and is on the fifth floor of a six-story pre-war, Art Deco elevator building.
There's a sunken living room (that's where the built-ins are), and a separate sleeping alcove (see below).
The foyer has decent closet space, including built-in wardrobes. And the kitchen, though not big by any means, is well-designed, and seems to offer pretty decent cabinet and counter space. Plus, we love that backsplash.
