Applications have opened up for 16 affordable rentals in 781 Metropolitan Avenue, a new development on the former site of a White Castle in East Williamsburg, per a listing posted on NYC Housing Connect.

The apartments are a mix of studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms geared toward renters making 60 percent of the Area Median income (aka AMI), which means between $31,612 and $57,240, depending on apartment and household size. According to the listing, building amenities will include laundry, gym, a roof deck, and a tenant lounge. As always with this type of development, preference for half of the affordable units will go to current neighborhood residents, in this case Brooklyn's Community Board 1.

As Brownstoner has reportedly recently, the building is still under construction, but nearing completion. If you're interested and think you qualify, you can create a profile and apply online via NYC Housing Connect, or request a paper application by mailing a self-addressed envelope to 781 Metropolitan Avenue JV, LLC c/o St. Nicks Alliance, 260 Powers Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211.
