Rent in a new Flatiron rental building for less than $1,000/month
The summer months always seem to bring a flood of new affordable housing lotteries, and 2016 is shaping up to be no exception. The latest on offer: 58 apartments in a brand-new building at 7 West 21st Street in Flatiron, a mix of studios, one-bedrooms, two-bedrooms, and three-bedrooms ranging from $913/month to $1,359/month for qualified renters.
You can check out the full list of apartment options, prices, and household income requirements below:
According to Morris Adjmi Architects, the firm responsible for designing the complex, it will have 288 apartments (including the 58 below-market-rate ones in this lottery), as well as ground floor lobby and retail space. Per the listing on NYC Housing Connect, the building will include a "green atrium in lobby, 24-hour doorman, on-site resident manager, landscaped garden, roof terrace, resident’s lounge, media lounge, virtual golf, game room, video game room, children’s playroom, laundry, fitness center, bicycle and parking," though some of these extras will require additional fees.
As is typical with this type of listing, preference for half of the affordable units will be given to current neighborhood residents (in this case, Manhattan's Community Board 5). If you're interested and think you may qualify, brush up on our application tips here, then apply online via NYC Housing Connect, or request a paper application by mailing a self-addressed envelope to 7WEST21, c/o Housing Partnership Development Corporation, 242 West 36th Street, 3rd Floor, New York, NY 10018. Whichever method you choose, applications are due August 23rd.
