The city is now taking applications for five below-market rate apartments in a new building in Harlem.
The apartments are part of a 23-unit development at 517 West 134th St., which is three blocks from St. Nicholas Park, and walking distance to at least 10 schools as well as City College and Columbia University's Manhattanville campus. The lottery apartments are one and two bedrooms renting for $950 and $1,050, respectively, and reserved for households making $32,572-$57,240 a year.
The building is described as having a roof deck and in-apartment washers and dryers. The remaining units are renting for market rates—a two bedroom is currently listed for $4,500 a month.
